Rock fall at Sagnette Col!

TO MOUNTAINEERS WHO INTEND TO CLIMB MONVISO

WARNING!!!

On the 26° of July 2009 from the north crest of Piedmont Point (Punta Piemonte), in the vicinity of the Sagnette Col (Colle delle Sagnette) (through which passage is required to follow the Normal Route (Via Normale) up Monviso), some blocks of stone have fallen.
As a result of this rock fall the entre rock face is in an unstable condition, presenting serious danger to those who ascend or descend the Sagnette gully. It is therefore strongly recommended to follow the footpath markings for the fixed rope/metal railed route and not to enter into the gully.
